As Kaylee wraps up her summer internship at Red Oak Inventory Finance, we asked her to reflect on her experience and share what she learned along the way. From gaining industry knowledge to building meaningful relationships, her insights are a great reminder of the value of hands-on experience and a supportive team.

What did you expect from your internship vs. what did you experience?

“I came into the internship expecting to learn more about floorplan financing, but I ended up gaining a much broader understanding of how the business operates. I was able to see how a deal moves through the different teams at Red Oak and learned how important those relationships are throughout the process.”

Do you feel you gained experience you will use in your future?

“Yes, I feel like I gained experience that I will carry with me throughout my career. From spreading financial statements to sitting in on company meetings and learning how to navigate a corporate environment, every part of the internship helped me build confidence and better understand the industry.”

Would you recommend an internship at Red Oak to others?

“I would absolutely recommend an internship at Red Oak. Everyone I worked with was welcoming and willing to help, which made it easy to learn and ask questions. In just twelve weeks, I gained experience and perspective that I know will be valuable moving forward.”

What was your favorite part of your internship?

“My favorite part of the internship was learning from the people around me. Hearing about their experiences in the industry gave me a better understanding of different career paths and made the internship even more meaningful.”

Thank you, Kaylee, for all of your hard work this summer!

We appreciate your attention to detail, dedication and positive attitude, and we wish you all the best as you continue your academic and professional journey.
