Derek Sawyer

Vice President, Finance / Controller

Derek Sawyer is a finance and accounting leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning corporate finance, internal audit, and public accounting. At Red Oak, he oversees all aspects of finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk management, human resources, IT, and strategic initiatives.

Derek began his career in operations at Textron Financial Corporation before transitioning into public accounting. He later held key finance roles at a midsize publicly traded company and spent several years with Deloitte’s Risk & Financial Advisory practice, serving global clients. Most recently, he led internal audit initiatives at Insight Global, a multibillion-dollar private equity–backed staffing firm.

Derek is a Certified Public Accountant with a degree in Accounting from the University of North Georgia.
